Starting point for this Itinerary is the hamlet of Visgnola ( 2 km for the centre) which can be reach by car or by bus ( to Lecco or C36 to Asso).It strats from Visgnola to gets into the park of Monte San Primo, passing through villages and forests, with a total climb of 785 meters uphill.
From the bus stop (opposite the Church square of Visgnola), follow the main road Via Valassina direction Erba-Ghisallo -Milano and, after about 80 mt. take a stairway on the left (trail sign 3). The trail leads steeply up in the meadows and woods.
Following the white-red signs you emerge from the woods and, once arrived at the Farm Elisa, pay attention to the path that deviates to the left; after about 100 mt. turn right and go up the lawn following the sign Chevrio.
After some very easy little rocks to climb, you reach and take a dirt road going uphill. Continue alongside the green fence on the left and then the wall; after about 400 mt., on the right, you can stop at the Belvedere Makallé and enjoy a wonderful view on the Bellagio promontory, the lake and the mountains all around and, if it is a clear day, you can see the northern part of the lake; now continue on the dirt road, pass the Trattoria Belvedere (great view and local cuisine) and go down towards the small village of Chevrio (80 mt. before reaching Chevrio, on your left you can find “I Drenn”, a farm where you can find cheese, butter, yogurt, berries and jams), Walk past the little chapel and the fountain and continue uphill straight on the paved road till you reach the main road, turn right on the main road and walk downhill for about 200 mt.
When you see the house number 206 turn left into a dirt road bordered by fences (trail sign 3). Continue uphill walking past some villas and the little hamlet Cascine Gallasco till you come out on the main road near the little church Regina Pacis.
Turn left along the main road, direction Villa Mora, and get to the entrance to via Mora (on the right), which is a paved road leading uphill. Follow this road to the end, where there is a farmhouse with a painting of the Virgin Mary. The trail continues on the left in a rather flat way, bordered with bushes. After a while you come out at Munt del Mot – farmhouse Dalcò, at the crossroads turn left and walk on till you find the mule track, that comes from Civenna, and here turn right along it.
Following the mule track get to farmhouse Giacinta, where there is a fountain with drinkable water. Continue along the trail entering the wood and leading slightly uphill, go past some gates until you reach, with a last effort uphill, Pietra Lentina, the biggest erratic rock in the area of Lake Como. (It is possible, if you wish, to stray halfway from the path and go left to Pietra Luna / Piano Rancio) Opposite Pietra Lentina to the left from the main street take the path uphill into the pinewood; continue halfway up till you come out, next to a utility pole, onto the parking area of Hotel Genzianella – Monte San Primo Park, on the main road coming from Pian Rancio.
